One of the first out gay comedians in the US, Kate Clinton has performed nationally since 1981 from Joe's Pub in New York City to the Park West in Chicago to the Herbst Theater in San Francisco, and back to New York for several off-Broadway runs, with hundreds of comedy club dates in between. Her two decades plus of material are on record in her eight comedy collections and three books.

In addition to live performance, Kate has appeared in and narrated numerous films, starred on Broadway and Off Broadway Stage, and appeared in television shows ranging from Oprah to the L Word. She has received numerous awards and honors including a Lifetime Achievement Award from the National Gay and Lesbian Task Force, and the Pioneer Award from GLAAD Media Awards.
